The Project Manager, Building Division, is responsible for Planning, organizing, and controlling all resources (people and materials) for the successful execution of a project. This position will lead project teams in the construction of projects ensuring project quality, schedule, cost control, safety and customer satisfaction objectives are met and is the primary contact for owners.
JOB RESPONSIBILITESÂ
Review project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work, required contents, and time constraints of projects during bidding phase. Create/maintain/monitor project schedule and performance. Assign duties, monitor, and evaluate performance of Assistant Project Manager.
Provide input to Force Design, Inc. personnel responsible for developing plans and specs on design-build projects. Participate in presentations to clients, as required.
Work with General/Project Superintendents to schedule material deliveries.
Establish and maintain a positive relationship with owners, customer personnel, subcontractors, vendors, etc.
Lead pre-construction efforts including providing constructability and value-engineering analysis and subcontractor and vendor scoping and pricing. Secure permits as required.
Assist in conforming to safety, EEO, insurance, and labor relations requirements.
Partner with Health, Safety and Environmental personnel to ensure projects follow safe working conditions and practices.
Support the achievement of EEO goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Previous managerial and supervisory experience in the construction industry.

Position Impact & Scope
This role is situated within our Heavy Civil Division, which provides turn-key management for all construction phases – serving our internal operating divisions (Plant, Pipe, Trenchless) and external clients. Pre-construction Vision: Proven ability to manage the full pre-construction lifecycle, "building the job" from scratch with a focus on project-specific logistics and execution strategies.
Structural & Civil Analysis: Exceptional ability to interpret and analyze civil, pipe, and structural drawings, plans, and specifications across all associated scopes.
AGTEK Mastery: Advanced proficiency and mastery of AGTEK is a core requirement for earthwork and underground visualization.

Job Summary
The Chief Estimator plans, coordinates and supervises estimating efforts for self perform divisions with emphasis on productivity, equipment selection and sequencing of work. The Chief Estimator has experience estimating multiple disciplines of work in multiple markets, and is capable of leading all types of project delivery methods. Chief Estimators have a demonstrated ability and willingness to mentor and train new estimators regarding all facets of preconstruction efforts. The Chief Estimator reports to Preconstruction Managers and assists with estimator assignments to ensure adequate resources are available to meet estimating deadlines and priorities. Must have experience working on large projects including heavy civil, highway, structures, underground utility, etc.Â
Key Responsibilities
1. Capably performs estimating functions including quantity takeoff, pricing development for all trade work, and analysis of trade bids 2. Demonstrated proficiency with risk management planning including identification, analysis, response planning and monitoring and control on a project. 3. Develops and maintains relationships with key trade subcontractors in the community. Has a thorough understanding of project communications and associated elements of plan including: generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval and ultimate disposition of project information. 4. Leads the preparation of estimating documents/deliverables, including budget uploads, purchasing plans, subcontracts, purchase orders, estimate General Conditions, and project logistics. Demonstrates proficiency with understanding project financial plans. 5. Performs advanced estimating tasks to include serving as the prime point of contact for all hard bid pursuits, coordinating constructability reviews, and applying appropriate indirect costs including insurance, taxes, and fees. Demonstrates business acumen and expertise in understanding budgeting and cost controls processes and systems so projects are procured and managed consistently and profitably. 6. Provides feedback regarding cost and constructability, developing conceptual estimates, providing justification and reconciliation of Sundt estimates to third party consultants, and has a detailed understanding and collaboration with team around the components of the project management plan (PMP) to ensure successful project execution including a detailed understanding of the change management process 7. Provides technical and administrative direction to ensure compliance with Sundt Management System (SMS) policies and procedures. Minimum Job Requirements  1.   Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience. 2.   Ideal candidates will have project experience in one or more key market sectors identified by the business unit. 3.   Proficient in the use of P6 and demonstrates skill in Critical Path Scheduling 4.   Proficient in the use of an Enterprise Project Management Systems. 5.   Proficient in the use of commonly used industry estimating software programs. 6.   Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs. 7.   Successful history executing projects valued over $100M. 8.   Ten or more (10+) years of experience in an estimating role.
